Occaisionly the "glass" in the window of a steam locomotive will dislodge. It is very trickey to reposition the glass and conventional glues leave visible blobs. Any suggestions on tools and adhesives?

I use microscale Micro Kristal Klear.
I use the Clear Parts Cement from Testers.

I use this as well. If you cut the end off of a Q-Tip and put a very small dab of Vaseline on it, you can easily handle/position the window(s). Beats using fat fingers and thumbs.
Gentlemen - Thank you for the suggestions. I was contemplating Micro Mark Watch Crystal cement, which I suspect is the same as Micro Kristal Clear. Tom - Your suggestion re the Q Tip and vaseline sounds excellent! Any additional thoughts on removing the vaseline? Guess "small dab" is the key! Also, when you say, "cut the end off the q tip", are you suggesting cutting of all the cotton. Would seem using the q tip as is would be the best trick. Maybe a bit of dish soap as an emulsifyer?
Also, is the best method putting the Crystal Clear on the window frame or the "glass"?
I use Canopy glue. Very little required and it dries clear. I assume you are putting oversize sheets inside the window frame. For pieces that fit inside the frame I just use CA glue.
