I believe the F40s being advertised on the Sterling site are NJT units. They've been stored out of service for some time although there are now reports of at least some being reactivated to help alleviate the power crunch following the hurricane. There's still a lot of work to be done. Many locomotives and cars remain out of service awaiting inspection and repair of water damage. The North Jersey Coast Line has a long way to go before it's back to normal. Multiple slow orders remain in place and signaling continues to cause problems. It's a very "old school" approach with train orders and transmission of verbal permission past certain signals via radio at the present time. We're still amazed at how quickly they got things running given the extent of the damage inflicted upon the railroad's physical plant.
