My model of the New Haven 2052 runs smoothly with satisfactory speed control for a road diesel. Lighting is good - I particularly like the functioning backup light, a first on a cab unit model for me.

The sound system features the accurate 567 Series prime mover; however, it is equipped with what I believe to be the Leslie A-200 single note horn as opposed to the NH's characteristic Hancock air whistle. It would have been nice if the locomotive had been equipped with the air whistle but I didn't expect Lionel to make it available to Sunset although I'm uncertain if Lionel even has a recording of the Hancock air whistle.

I won't get into details regarding the model's cosmetic features since you mentioned you've already reviewed pictures of it. Suffice it to say I rate its appearance as very accurate.

Good luck with your decision,

That can NOT be done, as Lionel licenses the TMCC and its associated sound chips. Thus, you get what ever Lionel allows, when you have 3-Rail powered models with TMCC!
