I wonder what the gouged online auction price will be??
@RadioRon posted:Did you see Cabinet Bob's post above? Why would you not believe what he says?
I just saw Cabinet Bob's second post on the subject. So if the volumes were actually very low, that explains the quick sellout.
@cabinet Bob posted:I do know how many were produced but I'm not saying. But like I said, it's very low compared to most releases. Myself, I wish I had bought more just to run...
Bob,
I don't know how you know, but in the future, if you are aware of a low volume item being offered, could you give us a heads up so that we won't miss out?
I know we'd all appreciate it!!
I was ready to buy and there weren't any left!!
I'm a Ford man at heart.

Thanks!
Bob, how long are the Ford trucks?
Thanks.
@Richie C. posted:I'd be willing to let it go. If you're interested in buying it, shoot me an e-mail.
I appreciate that! I'll certainly think about it and contact you if I decide to pursue it further.

Let the guessing begin: 50???

Then why mention it at all??
Mark, thank you for another nice product.

Would be foolish not to make more! Very nice.

If they do it with muscle cars( especially mopar), I'd jump for joy.

If you don’t like the trucks just run it empty.

That thing is awesome, but would look better with a Cuda or challenger. However any older muscle certainly does the trick! Those mustangs are looking good, especially the white boss 302.

Empty, those cars look very much like the wire train platform cars used by RR/PC/CR/AMTK/SEPTA on the northeast corridor/Philadelphia commuter electrification. When I realized that, I went to order two but they were sold out by then. Anyway, although not in this photo that I took at the Langhorne station, this gives an idea of the service that I am referring to:
PS: When they let the platform down, the guy standing on the top started doing chin-ups on the catenary! I wish now that I had taken a photo of him doing it.
BTW: I do not understand Menard's idea that they are selling "collectibles", they are in the business of selling product so make more when there is a demand for the item. Just my humble thoughts.
Okay, @jini5, my inexpensive MTH semi-scale ATSF Auto Carrier with 4 VW Bugs wants to drag race your New York Central Auto Carrier with 6 Mustangs! I couldn't resist! :-)
Western Pacific2217: Your MTH semi-scale Santa Fe Shock Control Auto Carrier looks sharp in the ATSF red scheme.
Might give Menards reason enough to consider releasing a set that includes their new Auto Carrier and just released "test" model of the Santa Fe Warbonnet "FP7" when it is approved for mass production?
Perhaps a limited edition set of 500 would work? Watch'em go out the door in record breaking time!
Question: Have you and jini5 pulled off that race yet? A video clip of the race would be Far Out indeed!
Hey who would buy the Menard’s car carrier with no cars? I would!
Same here, for me it would be a plus, nothing to get rid of.
Mark, I would have bought the car carrier with no cars. I like the Ford trucks a lot, but for me, I'm going to remove the decals from mine. I realize Menards was just drawing on their inventory of die cast vehicles when they made this nice offer.

Yes, but I don’t want them to feel like they NEED to put cars on it to sell. I don’t want them scrounging around to find appropriate cars for it when there are plenty who would buy it even without the cars if they think they need to offer it with cars.
The real TTX flat cars had TTBX reporting marks.
The logo was the yellow TT and the name was TRAILER TRAIN in white on brown cars.

Hi Trinity, jini5 didn't take me up on the race! LoL
WesternPacific2217: Ah shucks, I was sure hopin' the race was gonna take place. Picture jini5's New York Central Jade Green Auto Carrier with six Ford Mustangs and your ATSF Fire Engine Red Auto Carrier with four VW Beetles racing on Western Pacific 's Williams Loop (passing siding madness is understood...LOL) and you got the makings of a modern version of The Great Train Race!
If you wanna remain out front and pass the finish line first just make sure that you put Herbie on the top front of your Auto Carrier and you'll be in like Flynn!
OK Mark, the Menards Train Guy, let's see your fantastic new Auto Carrier be released in the as delivered TTX scheme that falconservice is referring too plus the ATSF and NYC versions...the list goes on and on...not to forget the yellow cars that the Frisco rostered. You guys got a winner with this car and the sky is the limit!
Joe
That's something I wish they would bring back, I'd buy a couple for sure

Especially without the pickup trucks!
I noted the ORE cars are all sold out too.......Menard's is selling everything they make.....I'd buy a few auto racks w/o vehicles.
