Hi Scott and Everyone!
It's been over 15 years since we've seen 3rd Rail do the STUNNING and SUCCESSFUL
5011 class 2-10-4 with the long oil Tender.
It's time for Sunset 3rd trail to do the NEVER BEFORE DONE IN O SCALE Santa Fe 5001 class with the LEVEL OF DETAIL seen today, such as the Santa Fe 2900 Class Northerns which are PHENOMENAL!
1 - The 5001 class have NEVER been done in O scale
2- They ran in California, and Colorado, and others territories that appeal to even a wider group of collectors and Modelers alike
3- You can make them as Built 1938 version / Early 40s which is great for PRE and Early periods
4 - They can be offered as well with modified Steam dome removed, and late 40s and 1950s rebuilt appearance to appeal to Post War
5 - They were available in Coal and Oil versions - Tender would be similar to Sunset one used on the ATSF 3751. - 20,000 gallon
Would love to see Sunset do these in 2019! Can you imagine How amazing these would be?! It's a great way to have a STATE OF THE ART Sunset Santa Fe 2-10-4, in an engine that has never been done before, with the fidelity to detail that only Sunset can do!
Gary Shrader of O scale Kings recently completely modified an old brass 2-10-4, into the 5001 class with STUNNING DETAIL...

What do you guys think?
Happy Railroading!
