I am nearing the end of my room prep for my layout and am hoping to build Bench work in December when I am off. My plan is to do a Tom Snyder/Chris Lonero/Steve Eastman inspired layout with both Standard Gauge and O-gauge trains.

I have a lot of 1/43 scale cars that we have implemented into the holiday set-up for years. I am wondering is if I should mix or switch to 1/32 scale vehicles? I know this is all about preference, however, I am curious what everyone else uses?

I stuggeled that at first but since we’re talking about tinplate and two different scales on the same layout then why not mix 1/43 and 1/24?  I sort of have 2 sides on the layout. On the other side of the standard gauge track I have 1/24 scale and 1/43 on the O gauge track side. The thing is unlike a “scale” high rail layout you don’t have to be a slave to “correct” scale proportions!  Here are a few examples on my layout.

Looks great Chris. planning to make simple layout on a 4 X 8 layout with a outer standard gauge loop with a inside  027 for my prewar stuff. Trying to make the inside 027 loop with switches and already I found that I collected to much houses and operating accessories. Guess that the best thing to do is to lay the track, then fill the blank spots and sell the resr🤔
