Hello! I’ve got a Lionel TMCC C&O Berkshire #2699, and I was wondering if there was a way to set the chuffing sounds to 4 chuffs per revolution instead of the 2 chuffs per revolution (without having to upgrade it or anything like that). Thank you!

This locomotive uses a cam and a cherry switch to make a chuff signal. That signal, is translated by the radio board and sent to the sound system via serial data . Most TMCC steam only have a 2 lobe cam. ( 2 chuffs per revolution ) To get 4 chuffs per revolution, you’d either have to change the cam to a 4 lobe type, or install something like John’s ( gunrunnerjohn ). Chuff generator & super chuffer.

Well, you only need the Chuff-Generator and a small 5VDC supply just to change the chuff rate, the Super-Chuffer II is the unit that controls the smoke unit fan and adds optional lighting features.
Ahh I see! Thank you for the links to those products!
