I just obtained a Weaver 0-8-0 switcher with TMCC installed.  The engine-tender connection is a plug with 6 needle-like pins and a matching socket.  This is really, really hard to put together.  Does anyone out there have any experience with replacing this plug/socket set-up with a more user friendly one?  Any suggestions would be welcome.

Thanks,

Phil

I believe this is the ugly large connector that is plugged between engine and tender.  Working on a Weaver Brass right now that has it.  Your effort is going to require you to rewire both engine and tender.  I use MTH stuff, but in this case you have to make a harness with a diesel like receptacle that can be hidden in heat shrink, since your going to have and external connection.  Otherwise your mounting a vertical bracket on the shell for an internal MTH type connector.  I am considering that for this one.  G

This weaver has Lionel modular too with all boards in tender.  Neat little setup.  But the connector is bulky with long pins.  One pin on one connector to ensure assembled right.  Not only that but it is almost too long to fit between engine and tender with drawbar connected.  Not sure why they did not use a connector like K-line and TAS was using?  G
