Hello,

Can’t seem to figure this one out, multiple engines same issue.

TMCC command base, Cab-1(have used two different remotes), newer style ZW with 180 power pack, power from ZW goes into TIU going to about 7 pieces of fastrack.

Any other I cannot seem to use the program switch, used both a RS4 and a RS5 engine, cannot perform a reset nor can I change an engine number. If I have the number for whatever engine I am addressing, it operates as normal.

any ideas?

My guesses:

1.) Low Battery in both CAB-1's.  This would be unlikely but it is possible.

2.) Bad Base-1.  Can you borrow one from someone to try a temporary swap?

3.) The two locomotives were assembled incorrectly at the factory and their switches are both reversed, i.e. "program" is really "run", and vice versa.  Also very unlikely, but possible, because it's happened before on individual units.  (If you personally were originally able to program them in the first place then you would have noticed the reversal at that time.)

Hi Chris,

You might pull the shell on one of the engines to see if the run/program switch is connected to the board, maybe a bad solder joint or broken wire.

Thru tiu so first test just tmcc base.  If that works what cable used and what version of tiu.  Does tmcc base power supply have good earth ground.  G

Ray, happens with any engine that I try to program. I would assume that, but not  so many engines.

George, no cable. Just ground going from transformer to command base.

Tried with multiple sets of batteries as well.
