I have only one mainline consisting of two very large reverse loops.  Sometimes when I run more than one loco with Legacy, I run into near misses around the loop switches.  Is there a way to auto start/stop a train in legacy before I have a crash?  Can LCS do this?  Or is that just a repeatable function playback device?

In the old days, as I recall, there would be a relay setup of some sort.  I'm just unsure of how to proceed to keep them from a head-on.  LOL

It's not there yet with LCS, but when someone comes up with a track presence detector input to LCS, it would be possible to program to stop until the loop was free.  The promise is there, just not the reality.

It's been suggested that dropping the track voltage on a segment to a low value that would stop the train but keep the electronics alive might do this, but I've never tested it.

If you are into "rolling your own", you could program up something like the Arduino to send the appropriate commands to stop and start based on the loop being busy.
