Going to the Allentown train show this weekend and may have a little extra time on my hands

Years ago ( Conrail days ) I remember railfanning around the area with my friend Jim Gollhopher - he knew the place well

Looks like the weather is going to be nice - any suggestions of where to go and hopefully see some action

Thanks in advance

I agree that Easton by the Delaware ( Scott Park off of Larry Homes Drive) is a very pretty spot with views of the Delaware where the Lehigh joins it. I have painted there a number of times and there are quite a few trains crossing the river. Nice park to picnic in. However, unless you are coming from New Jersey, it's at least a half hour from Allentown. You won't be too close to the trains so bring a telephoto lens.  (Not my photo-from the link)   https://sites.lafayette.edu/fu...ning-the-confluence/imag0099

If you don't want to venture too far from the show,  I haven't railfanned in Allentown, but there is a large NS yard on River Street, and some spots people go south of the river, notably 12th St and Vultee Street.   https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4gShEtlyljg .
