Something different for dessert. I can't say what it is or Vinny will not let me have any.

Is the master chef related to the **** Kitchen guy? Looks like the assembly line is working for slave labor wages!
I started fasting tonight in preparation for tomorrow's menu.
And John S.- you get only 2 mallomars all day.

Just back from Trainstock VI. Another great time with friends, good great food, and trains. I never cease to be amazed; being there several times a year and each time there are so many things new. Many thanks to Vinny, John S., Alex & Dina, and the rest of the kitchen crew for a wonderful meal, Thanks to Jim and the rest of the NJ Highrailers for all their time and expertise to get the layout ready for this great event.
Two questions. Where was Ben; playing with his 1:1 subway cars? where is my TrainStock VI hat?
A big thanks once again to all the Hirailers. Everything was great, lots to eat, lots to see, and wonderful people. Thanks!!
- Mike
Trainstock VI is history. It was a rousing success (despite the heavy snow squalls in the morning.) Lots of good train friends got together and had a good old time.
Here are some pictures for those who couldn't attend (and those who did!)
First up - Even Mike Wolf had to pay his $5.
And the rest.....
Chris, thanks for posting all of these pictures. Someday....we hope to get there.
I tried to thank as many NJHR guys as possible - thanks to those I missed too!
Something to look forward to each year during the cold winter days of January. Truly a special event.

Trainstock VI was a great success. Met with and spoke to Mike Wolf, CEO of MTH Trains, great guy, listened to all of the attendees, made suggestions recommendations. Mike made my day by autographing my MTH Premier NYC Box Car. Thanks Mike. It was a great experience and I enjoyed out conversation.
Jim, John, Vinnie and the rest of my club members, this was the first Trainstock event, lots hard work went into this and I must say outstanding team work.
Chris, Great pictures. Who's Moon?
thanks Chris

Chris,
Thank you NJ Highrailers for a great day. We are from the Black Diamond Society of Model Engineers in Bethlehem Pa, the ones in the red shirts. Loved the food, the trains and most of all the good company.

I too would like to express my thanks to the NJHR. What a great group of people. Had an awesome time today with all the Forum members.
Looks like everyone had a great time! Wish myself and Linda could have been there. I was looking in on the webcams and did get to talk to two of my buddy's on the phone. Marty & Erol!
Now if they could just find a way to get eggplant through cyberspace!

Chris all the food was outrageous, but Vinny out did himself with the Sausage and peppers. It was out of this world. People were coming back for thirds.
Alex
Thank you for a great day. My Dad and I had a great time. Thank goodness the snow stopped and cleared up. It was nice to get to talk to Bill the creator of the forever mountain. He gave me some good tips on how to start making mountains.
Thanks again,
David
The layout looks better than ever, the food was good as ever. I enjoyed it.
Trainstock VII can't come soon enough
Thanks to the NJ Highrailers for again opening their phenomenal layout for us to enjoy!
An amazing event as always!
-Dave
It is events like this that makes this hobby so great, bringing out the little kid in all of us.
As everyone has so eloquently said, seeing the trains, the changes to the layout, enjoying magnificent food and conversing with a great and fun group of people that participate in model railroading combines to create a fabulous time for all! You can't help but to have a great time!
Thank you NJ HighRailers, for inviting us and for your wonderful hospitality.
Lynley & Brian
Great day, great food, great fun, great trains, great scenery, lousy snow squalls in the morning. And still a whole lot of people came and seemed very happy to me. This is my first year as a NJ HiRailer and I'm just amazed at the amount of work and that goes into something like this. What a GREAT JOB!!!!
I was blown away by the day and the friendship, but mostly by Mat Horning's dedication of Memorial Mountain to his father. He talked about how he, as a child, ended up getting his father and Uncle (Bernie Callen) into a hobby that he was so interested in and THEY WEREN'T INTERESTED IN. The total reversal of what you would normally expect. And he did it so well. If you want to read more about this, you can on our website at http://www.njhirailers.com/about-us/our-history (if you cannot click on this, just cut and paste).
If you weren't able to attend and want to see one of the really neat additions that have been done, simply go to our website, then PHOTOS and take a look at the Ballantine -- The Three Ring Sign album. That's our newest addition along with Memorial Mountain and well worth seeing.
We still have public train shows coming up on February 23 and March 23. You're invited. Bring the family and friends to have a great time. We'd love to have you join us.
Gerry
Add Jean's & my thanks to the NJ Hi Railers crew for an excellent day. These guys and gals are the most gracious generous folks anywhere and we really appreciate their hard work to host a day like this. we did, however, miss Ben.
Thanks to all who have been posting reports and photos of what certainly has to be one of the premier events in this hobby.
I have not had the opportunity to attend Trainfest in the past, but am already planning--and determined--to be on hand next year.
Got home about 11:30 PM with our "road trip" crew......
i want to thank the New Jersey HiRailers from the bottom of my heart for a great day of Trains, Food and Fellowship. In my book you are the best the hobby has to offer!
Thank you so much!
Peter
Looks like everyone had a great time. Thanks for the great pictures.
From the River City 3 Railers, allow me to echo Peter's comment. You guys are first rate. The food was outstanding. The layout was incredible, and the members couldn't have been nicer.
Seeing the Soprano's and Tom Snyder layouts were also a treat. I've just downloaded a couple of hundred pictures from my camera. It will take quite a while to just absorb the details in these many scenes.
Thank you so much for your hospitality.

Turned in the rental vehicle after my post. We ran 842 miles round-trip in 36 hours. Worth every mile for this event!!!
Thanks NJ H-R! I had a great time and even got to go behind the scenes and underneath the layout a bit...actually, underneath the mountain! You guys are wonderful. Hopefully, if I can arrange it, I would like to synchronize one of your future events with visits from my grandchildren who live in Maryland. They would be thrilled.
I too have lots of pictures and video that I'm absorbing bit by bit.
My son in law and I had a good time, he say we need to build one like this, the long drive from Virginia was worth it.

One day I'm going to make it there for Transtock! Hey, I'm not even at my own place today to greet Mike! But, Chris and the crew are while I'm enjoying some golf and 70's here in Vegas. Great turnout guys!
Another thank you to the NJ Highrailers for putting on such a great event once again, Everyone always has a good time.
