Trump ES44 #4547

I didn't quite understand this one myself.  The 4747 model is exclusive to the Lionel store website (and retail stores I would assume), while the 4547 is available from other retailers.  It's like a spot the difference game.  The red and blue colors are inverted and the side of the radiator housing says "USA USA USA USA" rather than "GOD BLESS THE USA".

Since the places to get the 4747 are fewer, I imagine they'll make fewer of them, making it more limited.  Speculation of course...

To my knowledge, the red, white, and blue 4547 was a Bradys Trains special order. Don't know if other vendors are offering the same engine. But I did order this engine. Then a day later I got an email from METCA about their 4547 in the AFO colors. This also is a Lionel Legacy ES44. I would have ordered this engine, but the slogan under Trumps name says, " Make Trains Great Again". If it would have been MAGA, I would have been all over it. I do prefer the AFO paint scheme better.

I'm betting the 4747 model had another candidate's name on it until November, and the 4547 was added afterwards. Lionel probably had to hedge their bets early in production, and ultimately kept both color schemes.

I’m confused as well. I’ve been trying to preorder the 4547 red with God Bless America on it to no avail. I did preorder a caboose and track cleaning car from Legacy. Not interested in their trump/vance version. The 4547 comes up if you dig around enough on their site but then can’t order. I’m also not interested in paying when shipped. I would just as soon not end up with billing on a card several months later after long forgotten ordered🤔

This is the one I want to preorder. Uh, haven’t found a source yet. I have bought a few patriotic cars over the last year or two. Disappointed they’re O27. A lot of shelf space for something only ran about 3 times per year. Not to mention the expense.
