When I was "filling" the coal load, the membrane stopped rising ( had risen about half way up) and the loading sound effects continued until had turn off the power to the track. I have reset the engine several times, and each time I initiate a "fill" cycle, the membrane does not move and the sound effects will not stop until I kill track power. I have turned off the coal load feature, and am enjoying the otherwise trouble free performance from the engine. At some point I suppose I will have to return the tender to Lionel. Has anyone else experienced such a failure?

That sucks! let us know what happens.
Probably not really a TMCC/Legacy issue but more electro-mechanical. Here is a link to a nice thread that has pictures that should help you if you decide to try and repair it yourself.
In Jan I was up at the NJ-HR, and one of the VL-BB units in our four-BB multi-head consist had the tender go dead totally. That's the only failure I've heard about so far.
