I'm very sad that had to happen, especially for his son Mat. May he rest in peace up above~

Just saw it on Facebook. To Matt and his family and the Highrailers family sincere condolences, he was an inspiration to all.

Yes Ben, this is truly very sad!  Anybody that has been around the forum for awhile knows the importance Mr. Horning's association with the "njhirailers".  My sincere sympathy goes out to Matt as well as the Horning family.

Sad news indeed, I remember Marty giving me the tour of the offices, what an enthusiastic and happy guy he was. My condolences to his family, all the NJ Highrailers, and all his many friends, may God grant you peace.

If someone ever starts a "O Gauge Hall of Fame" Marty Horning certainly deserves an entry for his vision & commitment to the hobby & scale.

Very sad news indeed. Our condolences to his family. I'm sure his leadership will be missed by his family, the club, and those who remember his fellowship & hospitality.

My deepest sympathies to the family and NJHR. I remember the first time I met him and he was so happy and proud of the layout.

Truly a very sad day. Condolences to Marty's family and the Hi-Railers. From my first visit to the club and every subsequent visit Marty would always take the time to welcome me to the club.  This hobby lost one of its benefactors and a true gentleman

Very sorry to hear this Ben.  The NJHR members were very fortunate to have such a wonderful person like Marty.  He must have been quite a guy and I know he will be missed.  Our prayers go out for him and his family and our NJHR families....God Bless all of you....

This is very sad news. My heartfelt sympathy to Matt and his family. Marty was the best, always had a smile on. Marty was always there and appreciated all the work the NJHiRailers performed on the layout and other aspects of the club. He will be missed!!!

 One of the best clubs, hopefully can carry on their great tradition. yeap, truely a sad day. Hope you all find comfort in all the good you provide, and the legacy you create.

I had the pleasure of meeting Marty on several occasions.  A truly fine and gracious fellow, as well as a tremendous benefactor to this hobby.

Sincere condolences from all in the OGR family to Marty's family and the legion of friends and hobbyists who have benefitted from his generosity.  This great hobby is even greater as the result of his efforts and contributions.

A terrible loss for the the NJHirailers, the hobby and most importantly, his family.  My condolences to his family.
