Just completed the full upgrade of my Weaver Reading Crusader locomotive. First test run, I figured it might as well pull the proper cars.

Beautiful train John, thank you for sharing it with us.

Nice looking engine and cars.
Was this an ERR kit ? Any space issues ?
Well, I used the ERR Cruise Commander and RailSounds Commander, but I also used my Chuff-Generator and Super-Chuffer. I installed fan driven smoke using the MTH steam smoke unit. This is a very roomy locomotive and tender, so space was not at all a problem, lots of space.
Finally getting around to watching this on my laptop instead of trying to view it on my phone. John, that is one beautiful locomotive. I remember seeing some fantasy photos way back when in my youth, and I have always liked streamlined steamers. The Crusader is definitely one of the finest of them all.

Looks/sounds great, John! It's almost as if you've done a few of these conversions before.
I like the streamliners, but apparently the centenarian folks didn't, it was a PITA to work on them.
Most excellent!

One or two. I did have to take it apart for a fix, it was going nuts for no reason. Stopping and starting, lights going on and off, etc. Turned out I had a bad R4LC with the ERR Cruise Commander. To add insult to injury, I replaced it with another bad one and had a new set of symptoms. However, that was a giant clue, since it changed things, I knew I was on the right track.
I finally got a working R4LC in there, all back to sanity now.
Very nice John. 👍👍
Don't get to comfortable John, episodes of O gauge sanity is only temporary...

Hi John,

Thanks, I just need some nice interiors for these cars and it'll be a great set.

Yeah, like my late Uncle Eddie said about automobiles changing, "They make it nowadays so you can't get at what you need to. You have to take half the car apart to change the oil." He was not a fan of the new way cars were coming about. When I got my 2001 Jeep Wrangler, he took a look under the hood to see what changed. I think he told me from when he was in the Marines, only the computer #$&* is new, most of the other stuff is pretty much the same.
Very nice train. On the other tender I put the antenna under the coal load with no problem. I was trying to get away easier, so much for that. I'll move it up under the coal load.
It will work under the coal load. I once tried to put the antenna under the tender chassis on a tinplate upgrade since floating the tender shell was a non-starter and there is no coal load. That was a failure, so I had to insulate all the little handrails and make them out of nickel wire to create an antenna, a royal PITA.
Thanks again John.
Great job John!
How did you find time to work on your own stuff.
Looks and sounds great John. Enjoy them. It is a great set. Are those the passenger cars that I transported for you?
Gerry
Gerry, those are indeed the same passenger cars.

Just have to make time, let the stuff pile up.
