Weaver steam engine TMCC to ERR?

George, you should be able to swap out the TMCC driver ( DCDR ) for the ERR Cruise M, ….you’ll have to add a wire for the serial data to control the M, but it’s not difficult at all,…..first things first would be to take a picture of the existing set up and let us have a looksie around with you,…you may have to add a serial buffer, depending on how much the data stream gets robbed by the M,….

If it has Lionel electronics then a Cruise M is a simple swap but if it has TAS then its a bit more involved.

That locomotive should have come with a TAS SAW board.  Unless the tender is huge, not a lot of room for a Cruise M in addition to that big TAS board.

I'm looking to converting my Reading G1 to a 2 rail 820 series CNJ Pacific.  Haven't though much about the electronics, but some good discussion here.

  I opened up the tender and seems like it is a Lionel DCDR board along with a R2LC 08 board.  Is this just a drop in with soldering wire to #24 pin?  Here are the pics.  Thanks again for your time.

You're in luck!  All you need is a Cruise Commander M to replace that Lionel DCDR board.

Thanks GUYZ, it will be featured on Whistle Stop Wednesday Videos.  Easy install and now got to figure out how to install a fan driven smoke unit.  This engine came with a sleuth unit.
