I received this with some misc tinplate trains a couple of years ago. Three of the four figures were
broken off. I used superglue because solder would have ruined the little remaining.
Circus related? Train related? Floor toy? 
Looks very old. I have spent a lot of time researching it with no luck. Any ideas.

It´s not German. Looks like "Althof Bergmann" New York. Made around 1870 / 1880 I think.

I have looked at althof bergman before and was never able to find this one. But I think Arne
is right. There are many similarities.

I believe that you're correct. I had forgotten all about Bergmann. I have a couple of their horses. The wheels give it away. Amazing what a person buys and puts away. (and forgets)
