Happy 2015! Hope everyone had a great holiday!
I had a bunch of free time to just enjoy the trains with the kids over the last week or so
Lucia got the Hershey train set for Christmas, so naturally we had to run it on the big layout -
2351 on the point of a mainline train -
A look at the upper level - my plan is make this more of a winter scene up here when I'm done.
I decided to try a little customizing of my passenger station -
My new NKP Berk passing the repainted 133 station. Once the paint is fully dry over a few days, I want to go back & detail the bricks on platform

Here's one of those J's without clothes to start.......brought to the display by Gilly@N&W:
Crowds continued to be to be good the week after Christmas:

Happy New Year to all. Looking forward to another great year of trains and learning more about this fun hobby!

"Small layout...Big dreams"
Some of Santa's elves decided to take a "Busman's holiday" and check out the Town Of North Pole, Alaska, for their Christmas break. Thanks to the Alaska Railroad, it made it easy for them to get around.

Thanks for spoiling the next episode of Railroad Alaska for me!

Howard,
Very nice! I built one of these but painted it in the much later (utilitarian) all yellow. The original scheme is quite striking. This is an excellent kit and a fun build. I think another kit manufacturer offers a Santa Fe "Laura depot." Have you seen that kit? I've toyed with buying one. It's another small wood depot, though not quite as elaborate as the No.1 style depot.
I don't have any new pictures, but since it's the end of the year, here are a few older ones:

You know, this might be just the ticket. They are always looking for new story lines about the "off-girders". I think Santa and the Elves will qualify.
My 4 month-old grand daughter, Violet, is very interested in my Christmas layout. My grandsons have some competition.

Christopher,
I'm glad you got to spend time with the kids. Lucia's Hershey train looks great. I miss seeing her smiling face however. The station looks good, and the winter scene up on the mountain will be a good addition. Overall, your train room looks great!
My 3rd Rail K running at the Virginia Museum of Transportation this morning.

Thanks Mark. I can't wait to get some more scenery done. Here's a little Lucia for you from over the Christmas break -
