I'm adding to my pre-order list.  I'll probably pre-order more this year than ever before.  There are a few locos that I was mildly interested in when I first looked at the last 2 catalogs, but I figured I would wait until MTH made exactly what I was looking for.  Since production is ending next year, I plan to get a few more new MTH locos while I still can.

Decided against ordering any PS3 locos, but these were plus/minus plans in any case.  Did order a dummy PA1 and some rolling stock.  Dummies and rolling stock work with any operating system .

I only own a few MTH PS1/2/3 and Lionel conventional locos at this point and would be interested in retrofitting those with LionChief or LC+ or LC + 2.0 if Lionel would produce a kit (unlikely I gather) or license someone else to make one. These systems, particularly LC and LC+ use off the shelf components and should be dirt cheap for replacement of failed TMCC/Legacy/DCS systems or conventional locos.  End of rant .

Just put in my pre-order 20 minutes ago. RK Scale GM&O Alco RS-1 in the original silver/crimson, used before the GM&O bought the Alton RR and appropriated their maroon/red scheme (I prefer the silver/crimson, really). I had intended to skip it (so much stuff, and I seldom run my PS-X locos), but when this became the last MTH catalogue, it pushed me over the edge. (In so many ways.)

I sure hope that a partnership (or whatever) of Mike's employees buy the company, or tooling, or you name it, and that MTH lives on in some healthy form. Whether I have too much stuff or not, if "MTH" survives, I will make a healthy purchase or two.

I actually put a preorder in for Strasburg cars after I heard the announcement. Initially, I was planning on buying them once they physically arrived at Nicholas Smith (my LHS) but grew concerned that people would try to snatch them up once they heard the announcement. I'm hopeful that someone will make these cars again at some point (whether it's a resurrected MTH or someone buys the tooling/IP for the cars).

I'm ordering the RailKing RS-1 number 46 in Washington Terminal livery from the 2020 v 2 cat.  I've been waiting for years for MTH to come out with this locomotive in the Washington Terminal livery.  I'm thrilled MTH decided to offer this livery before closing up shop.  I used to see this locomotive at work in the Washington DC Ivy City Engine Terminal/ AMTRAK coach yard/ Union Station several days a week back in the late 1970/80's as drove by on New York Ave.

I'm also contemplating a couple other MTH pre orders from Forum sponsors of course.

I LOVE that MTH released such a variety of road names, especially short lines and switching roads!  I will miss the HUGE presence of MTH in our hobby.

AA E8 Illinois Central Premier with cars and a CNW F3 Railking.  Preordered them a while back and still am looking forward to getting them and running them until they die.  I am also looking to maybe order one more engine so I will be able to look at it as the last engine I ordered before MTH retired.  I'm looking at a steam engine -- haven't ordered one in several years -- perhaps Great Northern or Chicago Great Western.  Can't decide, but that's always been the fun I've enjoyed with MTH catalogs.  I feel fortunate, as this end of MTH sets in, because I have a large collection of MTH engines and cars -- so I really don't need to keep adding after 2020.  It may be time to say I'm done building my collection.

Thanks for adding this post.

I just pre-ordered the Western Maryland 2-bay hopper 6-pack Wednesday through my LHS, CT McCormick Hardware in Zelienople, Pennsylvania.  There aren't any engines in that catalog I wanted, so the closing business notice was a non issue to me as far as pre-order goes.  All but one of my MTH engines were purchased used anyway.  I already have a order in for another DCS remote.
