That millipede was scary in that picture.  We only get the small ones (2 in) .

I will try the spray bottle stuff outside !  HOME DEFENSE !

Those bug bombs scare me !  A friend tried one , it started a fire ( $ 20,000 ) !

The geckos are kool !

WRGMILW, we never had daytime gecko's until about three years ago. The lady across the street first saw them and took some pictures. I couldn't believe how beautiful they are. We got a few the next year and now they are all over our yard. They stay in the house for a few days then leave. No one knows how they got here. Someone must have brought them and they got out. They are called Madagascar Day Geckos. This one is on the outdoor shower. Doncrop gecko

Stink bugs have become a major pest in Northern Indiana within the last 4 years , check all of your door and window seals, with winter coming they are trying to enter through these seal locations even with the doors and windows closed. Make sure that the dryer exhaust vent has a damper door or louvers that shut when not in use also the check that the damper on the toilet sealing mounted fans shut went the blower is off. I spray all door, house and garage door bases, with a spray insect killer every couple of months during the summer and fall. Also check natural/lp gas service, electrical service and water spigot holes in poured concrete/block basement walls for radial opening, these are entry points for field mice and other pests, seal with injectable foam. I spray the interior base floor/concrete wall with either Home Defense or a Spectracide equivalent product.

Bugs drive me goofy, I tried , we had spiders,  mites,  wasps. Orkin got most of the spiders but not all, they got the mites also but slowly. the wasps I got with those cool new insecticide spry cans that shot a 12' jet of bug juice, it works great.  It is a hoot to hit them and watch as they fall to the ground in a spiral like a zero to the ground. I will ask the wifey if we should get one or two of those geckos. Ya right, that will happen., however if she see another one of those Wolf spiders she may go for it.

I don’t know if the Stink Bug epidemic was nationwide, but they certainly had their way in the northeast during the past decade. Thankfully their numbers seem to be decreasing as their liquid excrement hardens to brown spotting that can be hard to remove from plastics. I am still in the process of removing this crap from my models as these bugs seem to have no boundaries. Getting to the OP’s question, there are a plethora of insecticide hacks for various insects to be found on Pinterest. I like the ones that utilize natural ingredients (as the aforementioned peppermint oil) that are pet friendly. Plus, you never know when you might see an “ambulance chaser” commercial advertising “if you ever used (insert pesticide name) and have suffered (insert malady) call 555-123-4567 for a settlement- now!

Maybe these guys are eating those stink bug, something out there like them. they are getting less each year.

Home Defense here also....spray the perimeter of the house once warm weather arrives in the spring and once before your first cold spell hits in the fall. Wonderful stuff! Use to have crickets by the hundreds this time of year crawl under the rubber garage door seals. They don't last long after crawling through the Home Defense spray.

The first Stink Bugs arrived about 20 years ago in a shipment from the Orient to Allentown, PA...the same town as the Allentown train show and OGR breakfast. Each year they spread outwards to the far reaches of the USA. There does seem to be fewer here (about 60 miles from Allentown) than there once was. Our loss is your gain.

As a pest control business owner for 40 years: Keep plantings at least 3 feet from your structure, make sure there are no entry points, if so close them. NEVER use mulch of any kind, especially that sold by a tree service and lastly always treat the soil around your house,  (at least 3 feet out) hire it done or you can do it yourself.
