I'm thinking about getting one of these little critters. I'm just wondering what some owners who have had these for a little while think over all ?

Very impressed with the quality and scale size for the reasonable price. Hope to have mine painted mill green and Kadees installed soon.
Chris,
I think the sounds are good, it pulls well, and is a smooth runner.
Reversing led headlights are nice.
Crew figure.
Fixed pilots are nice
The paint job is good.
It does not stop on my 072 switches, like some other critters I own, I have actually used it in my yard with sucess, no electrocouplers so the Hand of God must be utilized.
The plastic handrails are somewhat delicate, I haven't broken one, I just avoid touching them.
It looks great with scale or semi scale consists.
I am very glad I bought it, and would recommend it to you.
Btw: I really like 44 tonners, I ordered the MTH in Western Maryland months ago, I thought the protocouplers would make it most useful in my yard. The WBB in PRR can pull trains around my elevated loop you see in my videos.
I'm sorry I don't do impressions. My specialty is television engineering.
I like it with the exception of the delicate plastic handrails. I upgraded mine with electrocouplers and command, but I looks like I'll have to make railings if I can't get some parts from Williams. Taking the railings off to disassemble it is very difficult. I have several broken ones.
It seems to handle switches better than most small locomotives, and with cruise control it is very controllable at any speed. Pulling power is 4-5 freight cars or a couple of passenger cars, sufficient for a switcher.
The handrails are hopelessly delicate.
The run much better once converted to serial rather than parallel wiring for the motors.
They are challenged as to traction (only the innermost axle of each truck is powered) and power (motor in each truck - very small motor). My experience is that they can't pull more than four of five postwar cars around a layout without stalling or spinning their wheels.
Still, I like them and they don't cost much.
The two I run have very quiet sound, and i have followed the instructions to raise the volume but it does nothing.
I only plan on pulling a few light cars and I would definitely want to wire the motors in series like any other Williams engine.
The thing about this hobby, a better mouse trap, always comes along.

I know MTH is building another Mouse trap but at the right price I would get the Williams until MTH comes out with my choice of road name.
I know • Williams has my road name.

My wife is from Ouray, Colorado......
We spend a lot of time out in the Rockies.
Williams has done an excellent job with their advertising.

I may spring for the MTH when it is available, but I wanted one in TMCC as well, so the conversion makes more sense to me using the Williams.
Thanks for the videos Craig, really helps to see it in action (horn and bell included)........

Curious on MTH size of their couplers and flywheel motor setup. As to roadnames, easy to remedy with paint and decals.

I wouldn't remedy anything - there will be a lot of road names made - a few at a time....
We have just two of the WBB's left - both in PRR - please call and get them!
My friend got his and it is a gem. I have the MTH version on pre order but may eventually get one of the WBB also lol.

This is what I need, or paint and decal to match.
Listening to the Video, it appears as though they have increased the VOLUME of the Prime mover sounds?? The GP30 is not very loud!!
