The Dreyfuss Hudson is now a part of the popular culture. As evidence, the broadcast of the Dick Clark New Year's show that included Ryan Seachrist had an electronic billboard in one street scene of Times Square that included the nose of a Dreyfuss Hudson, along with the NYC oval immediately below the nose. (The billboard background was reddish in color.) I saw it early in the show, but it did not show up again once I pushed the "record" button.
I don't know how many people watched that show that evening, and I am pretty sure that the network had nothing to do with the billboard, but I was pleasantly surprised nontheless.
