@AlliesDad she got me into this hobby. She grew up with trains. I did not. Honestly, she rarely wants to run them either. She is an artsy person and likes to help with the scenery. I video taped this session because it is rare. She is not a big technology person and I was impressed with her running multiple locomotives on different lines.  I do wish she ran them more. I have bought most of the locomotives for her, lol. She sends me links to Trainworld several times a week. She has 200 locomotives and rolling stock in her favorites. Lol

@AlliesDad this hobby has taken me into so many areas. I am a drone pilot, 3D design and printer, and rail fan. All because of trains. 🤯🤪 She supports all of it. It is just crazy the avenues this hobby takes you down. I was in logistics for 32 years until 2018, semi retired. Now doing things both FT and this PT hobby that were not on the bingo card, for sure. Always enjoying the ride regardless.

She is doing great, wish that I could run multiple trains at one time. In our home I AM the wife (girlfriend actually) and I am building the layout solo. I wish that he was at least into the electrical/technology part of it, but I am even better at THAT and that isn't saying much, lol. I think it was right after I retired in 2008 that he said, " you once talked about wishing that you had a train set growing up; what size were you interested in?" He had been window shopping in a train store but was clueless, so we went out together and he bought me a Lionel ready to run set (Rio Grand) and a 4x8 plywood on two 3' high shelving units. It was Christmas so I picked up some white felt and porcelain buildings from the thrift shops. I soon became bored with the small loop and purchased another 4x8 making an L with another loop. I soon got bored, and well you all know the rest! The L soon became 16 by 21 BUT in my dingy, damp, low-ceilinged basement no one came to see it and I was stuck with moving ahead SO I sold the basement, taking the layout pieces with me to another state where I am really making progress and like to actually RUN MY TRAINS! He comes down to see any updates but has no interest in helping or running. My next boyfriend will be a techie, lol.

Mikki

@Mikki you go, woman!! I had no idea how to do any of this. I always taught myself as a Super user of technology, this hobby has taken me to the behind the scenes "technical" sides of technology. It was not on the bingo card that i would learn 3D design software, become drone pilot, or be interested in standing for hours at a train location. Lol! Wild world.
