Can anyone just go in & browse the tables & purchase train items? Seems I'll be around the Baltimore area around York time.

You can register one time as a guest on site and have access to the whole meet (7 buildings) Thursday, Friday and Saturday, or you can pay a smaller "public" entry fee on Friday or Saturday only and have access to only the dealer halls (2) and layout hall. Just make sure you have comfortable shoes -- the average York has over 2400 tables of stuff to look at (and tempt you... 
). Just remember that if you go as a guest and you want to come back, TCA membership will be required after the guest visit.
