As author of this thread I can only say I am impressed. I did not think there would be as many responses and as many interesting and diverse interests. From hiking, bicycling, fire engines, beautiful cars, motorcycles, boating, music and on and on. I have to say again, I am truly impressed. I can see why there are so many wonderful and interesting members on this O gauge railroad forum. I believe the staff at OGR magazine will agree with me on this.

Thank you so much for sharing the photo's and explanation of your unique hobbies and interests. I am excited to see more from those who have not had a chance to post yet.

I can't say that I'm active in those things, but I love your list. I do wish more people were interested in wildlife preservation and related environmental causes like The Sierra Club and National Wildlife Federation. Keep up the good work!

To old to be interest in the ladies( well I can still look), to old to fix cars up, to old to try anything pisical, can not see that well to model anymore, I asked the doctor about this Vigra stuff, he said forget about it, if I gave you that they charge me with murder, can not drink that much bad kidneys. I just sit around looking at trains, play on the internet awile, friend told me to go to the white house.com. That new president is a bad boy.
I am going back to the docs to ask about that Viagre stuff again.
Back to running my train in a circle again till I get sleepy and go to bed with the wife.
Besides trains I would say golf. I've been working at a local golf course for almost 2 years now and get to play all I want for FREE! I played today, it did get up to 50 degrees plus I have a cart cover and heater for the cold days. I hope to be able to enjoy it for a couple more decades, but the way I feel right now it's gonna be hard. I feel like I've been run over, I did manage to get in 25+ holes, the last few were trying out a different driver. I won a $100 gift certificate in a tournament we had before Christmas and it's burning a hole in my wallet Eek

I was into 1/6 and 1/1 military collecting but if you think our 1/48 trains take up room you ought to try a 4 foot long tank (or 8 of them). I used to fly RC planes but they take up a lot of room also.

I must be the only male in the USA that doesn't care much for cars, I didn't get my license until I was almost 18 and look at them as nothing more than a way to get from point A to point B...sorry guys Frown

Smokey, yours is the funniest post on this thread! Big Grin Thanks
It's a good thing hobbies we USED to do weren't asked about. I've seen some here I did when going thru the hobbies one by one in an earlier lifetime.

Guitar in the '60s, sports cars in the '70s and off-shore bill-fishing and Carribean scuba in the '80s. There was underwater photography, spearfishing, wall dives, wreck diving, cave dives (that's where lobsters hang out), night dives and treasure hunting for sunken Spanish galleons. I can't now hardly believe I did that stuff...you couldn't pay me enough to go down there today..
hello prrbill........
that is a beautiful 1969 dodge charger you have as i had a dark green and black top with green interior 1969 R/T with the 440 and 727 back in 1977 i was the second owner and it was beautiful car and i missed it dearly because it was rear-ended by a lady putting on lip-stick driving caddie and it destroyed the entire back of the charger and she didn't have insurance. i paid 1500 for it back then sigh !!!!!!!!!!

My W150 is my daily driver and i am 3rd owner fixing it up piece by piece as time and money permits. I have railking imperial challenger and set of 14 cars, i hope they are just as reliable as my old power wagon only time will tell !!!!

OMG I can't help it. Ah the old three legged horse . I ran against some of those at the drag strip and they ran like a three legged horse. One part of the Pic is right and you guys always seem to know that YES the Bowtie emblem is always on the back > I guess cause thats what you see the most of.
(Hope everyone knows this is all in fun)

No problem Dave. I have had as many Chevys as Fords along with Pontiacs and Plymouths. Below was my 1959 Corvette.
I love that 59' some of the best things that were ever produced were made in 1959.

Like that Vette and Me I was born August of 59'.That is my favorite year for 50's Vettes .My all time favorite year is 67-69 with 427

My other favorite car is a 69 Boss 429 Red with Gold trim. I saw my first one November of 68 at Koons Ford Near DC . I wasn't old enough to drive yet but I know I was drooling like a hound dog

David
hello DPC...........
try to race against 1,000cc bike and you don't stand a chance as where i live they are all over the town. those bikes are rockets as some of them can dip into low ten's even high 9's with just little work. I have seen some on youtube where some guys put on turbocharger on it and with the NOS. I wondered how long those motors lasts ? the 318 suits me just fine as i am more interested in how far i can go from point A to point B or how many times around the world. Any engine that is hot rodded, the reliability goes down in hurry.

I have a feeling that folks that drive this car see all those other cars you listed above, including yours, in their rear view mirrors without breaking a sweat every time; even the 289 ones. Wink

I guess we've all had some other interests, but now I'm concentrating on building a layout. These are some from days gone by.

This is my '66 mustang that I bought new. 289 hipo, had lots of fun with this car. I gave it to one of my sons in TX a couple of years ago, and he is enjoying it, too! That's the old Hopewell, NJ station in the background, with CSX tracks just behind it.

This is one of my '61 Starliners, that I still have. Had a new one right out of college, 375HP, 3-spd OD. This one I've had almost 25 years now. I built it up into a 401HP 4-spd (from a 300HP 3-spd OD)

I got my Private Pilot's license in '67 and had a whole lot of fun flying various Cessna's and Pipers, even some stick time in a T-6 and T-34. This is a photo of a ship I had a lot of fun with, a CAP L-16. Great fun to fly, although you had to prop it, it was noisy, and it was cold in the winter. Flew several SARCAPS and REDCAPS with it.

Hope everyone's off to a geat New Year!

Best Regards,
Gary F

Very interesting to me that so many OGF members are also into Ford Mustangs.I have been a fan of real and model Mustangs since I was a kid.I recently bought the radio controlled Latrax 1/12"scale 1978 Ford Mustang II Cobra that I was hunting for years on Ebay.Though it was considered a "glorified Pinto"to some,I wanted a real Cobra II(or at least this model)real bad when I was in my early teens.
