Reply to "Questions about installing PS32 Stacker Board with older RK ABA E8 set"

Awesome guys, thanks!

@Vernon Barry yes I was aware that I have to use the "Diesel Normal Smoke" chain file specific to the PS32 boards.  Already downloaded.

I flash the PS32 chain file first.  That will get the right firmware on.  Then, the sound file for the ps3 E unit is contained in the first-level zip file...as long as I unzip that file and point to the highlighted embedded sound file with the "mth" extension it will load properly, right? I don't need the "P172_P_EMD...-CPF file (which is the chain file for the PS3.0 only)

The headlamp has no markings but it's totally isolated from frame ground.  I'll just hit it with a 5V power supply real quick and check before plugging in power.

Anyone have any info on the rear coupler shunt requirement?  Need to install a resistor when not running A-B-A or A-A?

Also added a question about speaker impedance...8 ohm is what I've got installed. Upgrade instructions say to use 4ohm...I should be fine right?  I don't care about loud volumes.

Finally...does anyone what type of station announcements the Premier Metra E-8 uses?  Is it particular to a certain Metra line? (I spent lots of time watching these on the Aurora line, would be awesome if they announced a few stations from that! Brookfield, Downers Grove, etc....)
