I just got back from the TCA  Southern division show in Palm Beach Gardens, FL where I picked up my first ZW. It's a 275 watt, year unknown.

I am overjoyed to finally have one. The seller was a dealer from Tampa who said all works as it should, it does have a new AC cord.

Anyhow, anyone know where I could download a manual for it.

Thanks, Greg

Please be aware that on the first page, Lionel tells us something that is not quite true.

They say that the wattage rating of a transformer is the "measure of its capacity...to furnish power."  Probably this is just semantics, but,  on Lionel transformers, the wattage rating is the maximum power that the transformer will DRAW at the primary side (cord at the receptical.)  All transformers are less than 100% efficient, (hysteresis, heat, noise & vibration contribute to the losses) so a 275-Watt transformer will never deliver 275 Watts at the secondary terminals. Probably, you should expect to get 80% at most.

I have been using a CW40 on my small loop and a CW80 on my “big” loop, all 28 running feet of it. So a  ZW will be way overkill but it sure looks cool.

I run conventional, Marx and Lionel from starter sets. Will be putting 4- 10 amp circuit breakers and TVS on the outputs. My Scout engine has a board for the E unit and Thomas the tank has boards for the E unit and the whistle. The Marx you can’t hurt with a bomb.
