SWMBO wanted to go look at antique shops over in Jefferson, Tx. this morning.

I occasionally find somthing that can be used on a layout and today was one of those days.

I found this tinplate barn. It's nicely sized for my upcoming tinplate layout & the condition was

pretty good.  It is missing the roof vent, but I can live without it!

The Seller had his booth marked at 50% on everything, so the price was reasonable.

I couldn't find a manufacturers mark on it, I'm curious if anyone is familiar with it?

Thanks.

Dave

Here's the Ohio Art barn and silo on my layout, it's quite different from yours, but the roof tile lithography is similar.

I have Britains, Johillco, etc. hollow-cast lead farm animals with mine, but there are many other options - the Marx and Auburn farm animals are the right size also.

I have a couple of those tin silo's on my layout.  They are marked "Sunnyside Farms"(?) I believe.  One silo is missing the top, but still looks great.  My uncle had the complete set when he was a boy.  Sadly the barn was damaged by rust to the point we were forced to sell the walls off for parts.  I still have the tin garage and the tin chicken coop that went with it, and now I have them along the siding with my operating milk car and cattle car platforms.

The Marx #304 cattle coral and loading chute is a great little tinplate accessory to tie the farm into the trains - I have the chute lined up to a stock car spotted on a siding by the farm.
