From Olsen's CD. Didn't show individual Baldwin wheels.  FYI -1947 version used same wheels for pilot and trailing trucks, and CD did have wheel PNs for the 1947 version that I have included FYI, PNs being for Wheel + tire. I don't know enough to say the 46 and 47 versions used the same driver wheels.

Pilot ==> Wheels 671-127 , complete pilot 226E-88

Trailing Truck ==> Wheels 671-127, complete  trailing truck 726-43

Baldwin ==> three types. Again PNs for Wheels + bearings + axle

Qty 1 - No Flange Plain Driver 726-19   '47 - 726-64

Qty 1 - No Flange Eccentric Driver 726-18  '47 - 726-63

Qty 2 - Flanged Drive 726-11  '47 - 726-62

Lionel only sold the wheel set assembly for the 1946 726, not the individual parts. The end wheel set assemblies, 726-11 were geared and driven by a drive shaft with two worms on it. There has been prior discussion on this board about the issue of having to coordinate the location of both the crank pin and worm wheel teeth, to get both ends to work together. There was no conclusion reached on this issue, probably because with Lionel only selling wheel sets complete, there was no reason to press individual wheels. This discussion was long enough ago that there were still people who worked in the Lionel factory around and could have spoken up, if this issue was known, but none did.  There were a lot of these wheel sets around.  New 726-11 wheel sets were available up until 10 years ago. With a little looking around there may still be some out there.

If new wheels only were required, that is there is a good gear on the axle, I can see where with a good set of wheel cups changing only one wheel at a time, the relationship between the crank pin and gear teeth could be maintained.  Maybe you can say more about the nature of the repair you are considering making.
