This plan evolved out of a discussion here on the forum.   It has an interesting track layout with route variations, return loops, and a "grand tour" route that goes through the crossing in the middle near the station.   The outside route is O-60 with O-72 easements.   The inside route is O-48 minimum.  Comments and suggestions very welcome!

ken,

I really like the bow-tie shape...you can do a lot of variations from it. I was going to comment that someone with 5' for width doesn't usually have 15' for length.

Macaroni invalidated that assumption.

ACE has done some nice designs with this approach using O27 and Marx O34 for tight areas. In the Atlas track plans online, their New "York" layout is what they take to shows. (i.e.; York Fall meet) It uses this concept.

Very nice ideas.  I was planning a 5x20 with similar elements but the crossover with curves in the middle is genius.  I will have to rethink my plan

Ken...Thanks very much for posting the AnyRail file for this design. I have the demo version and have started working with the program and your file. I am new to Fastrack and will take a look at that product. I am very interested in building this design for year round use. Current layout is 072 Lionel PW table Christmas Train/Snow Village display up two months per year.

Is there a command in AnyRail that identifies what actual track item you used? Is that how you came up with your track/turnout list?

Richard
