My friend and Charter Member of the San Diego 3-Railers Club, Pete Pearson acquired an AA F3 Union Pacific K-line. He was looking for a B unit which was hard to get but he found out that Western Depot in California had one. So he called them and found out that they didn't have one, but he was given another phone number and found out that it was Eastern Depot in Pennsylvania. Western Depots owner is the brother to the Eastern Depot owner. that blew my mind that ones own a store on the West Coast and East Coast. Eastern Depot had the B-unit on the shelf and the last one so Pete got his B-unit.

That's funny. They both advertise in OGR and their ads look kind of alike too.

The original owner of the Western Depot passed away about two years ago,his son now runs the business.

Next time you see Pete tell him I said hi. Used to run trains often with him when we still had the old layout at the museum, but haven't been around that often the past several years due to work & family commitments.
Yep, as others have already mentioned, the owners of both the Western Depot & Eastern Depot were brothers, up until Bob's passing a couple of years back where his son runs it now (prior to that I remember he managed the phone store right next door, don't know if that's still the case or not now.
That's pretty amazing. Never visited either store but for years have checked their websites for things, especially K-Line, that I could not find anywhere else, and that has led to getting some of my favorite passenger/freight cars and cabeese(s). Good luck to both the East and West Wings I say!
Years ago when the TCA convention (1999) was in San Francisco we met the owner of Western Depot. He was a fun guy. I still have the custom paint SP bay window caboose he sold me.
There is an Eastern Depot?
I like WEestern Depot, sad the owner has passed.
Just looked at their website, it needs some work, but I am glad I know about it.
Thanks for the heads up!
