Accurate O scale models of the F7?
Other than brass import models which manufacturer has the most accurate size F7 diesels?
Atlas, Lionel, MTH, Williams, others?
Photos of my MTH F7s are attached.

Atlas currently, and soon to be Sunset/3rd Rail.
Atlas hasn't made an F7 yet, only F3's, but they are usually correct. The Burlington F unit pilots being the only thing I've noticed that were wrong.
Waiting for the 3rd Rail F7 would be the best bet.
However, shell wise, a Lionel F7 I purchased was very accurate. I would have assumed that Lionel would have used the same mold for the shells. etc. but they didn't. The side doors were not the same as the F3's. The rear doors had round windows instead of the square windows used on the F3's. The dynamic brake fan was 36" which was correct for the numbering of the units.
I don't know if Lionel has been as accurate with their road number/details since.

Using Jim Fuhrman's Phase charts my Lionel engine met the criteria. Door panel shape and kick plates,

For Pennsy F units you would probably want to check the criteria here:
I would order the 3rd Rail F7's estimated to be released next spring. I think as Howard says, they will be the most accurate in 3-rail O-Gauge. Their website shows several road names offered for the F7's.
I hope this helps.
It looks like the people at Atlas, Bachmann(K-line), Lionel, MTH, and 3rd Rail are trying to save SOO LINE operators a lot of dollars by never producing the EMD F7 A-units and B-units in the SOO LINE schemes.

I always thought the original Atlas product was an F-7. Farr grilles, only two portholes per side, and five low profile fan housings on the roof - those, to me, are the F-7 characteristics.
Atlas... Question is, are they worth the wait?
Won't it eventually come down to the road specific details?

Incorrect. My Atlas Santa Fe Warbonnet #41(L)-A-B-C set from 2 years ago is F7's.
This thread was from 2014 when that statement was made, so it was accurate then.

Well the O.P. thread started in 2014 so he was Two years off before delivery of Last year's Atlas o F7's.
OT answer the O.P.'s question, your safest bet are the MTH F7's. Not many complaints.
The Lionel TMCC F7's in PRR had too many unwanted details as well as the Paint color seemed to be off:
Unwanted nose lift rings on the back of an "A" unit.
I have only seen half a pic on the current Lionel Legacy F7's. There doesn't seem to be complaints about it but you would need to see it in person and check for any unwanted details. I am currently waiting for my Superbass B unit. I played it safe with this round.
