Hello,

I recently purchased the Base 3 and I am having no luck getting it to work with the Legacy PowerMaster. I can successfully assign the PowerMaster a TR ID number but I get no functionality after that. I am unable to power up the track in CMD or Conventional mode. I tried all of the usual buttons in the app to power up the track but no luck. I can see that the PowerMaster is receiving commands via its red blinking light. I am hoping that someone else has experienced this issue and can point me in the right direction. Thanks for your time.

Has this issue been resolved? I am so disappointed with the lack of instructions on how to assign my  Powermasters to the Base 3. If anyone has a link to the instructions for this please post the link.

It has not been fixed yet. But, as others have stated, you can assign a Powermaster as an engine instead of a train. Unfortunately, that’s a workaround for only one of the bugs. The CAB-3 app still doesn’t let you turn off momentum to achieve responsive control of voltage like you can with any of the physical remotes.

The power master must be reset to run as an engine number for it to work in the CAB3 currently.   But…   I found the last Cab3 update 1.1.47 causes voltage to go to zero every time I adjust the throttle for the power master in the Cab3.  Running conventional with the e-unit active goes to the next mode every time you change the throttle.  I am still using my cab2 with my base3 as a result.

I believe this is the same TR ID# assignment issue I have observed with my Base3 connected ZW-L. Here is what I posted elsewhere.

*************************************************************************************************

I can assign TR ID#'s to each ZW-L output (1-4) using my Cab1L as described in the ZW-L instruction manual. Then I control output voltage from each track using my Cab1L. It works perfectly using the Cab1L.

But inside the latest Cab3 (Android) app I cannot configure the TR ID# as you supposedly can if you have a Cab-2 remote (which I don't have).

Is the inability to configure TR ID #'s in the Cab3 a bug that has not yet been fixed? I have not tried assigning an ENG ID# to the ZW-L outputs because I prefer to use TR ID#'s for Track power control.

Thanks,

This is a new bug that I believe has not been reported to Lionel. There is another related bug that Dave at Lionel is aware concerning the direction button. When you press the direction button the actual voltage drops to zero and bounces back up as it should. However, the displayed speed drops to zero and stays there. Therefore, when you try to increase the voltage, it immediately snaps back to zero, tripping the reversing unit a second time.

FYI. Here is a message I just received from TalkToUS@lionel.com

Good Morning,
Thank you for contacting Lionel. This is an issue that Lionel is working on fixing with the app. Currently you will need to assign track and ENG instead of TR for it to operate correctly.

Thank you,

I tried to re-address the ZW with #90 and no go. The ZW just blinks like its waiting for the Base to send it a command while in PGM mode, it never accepts the new address.   :-( Setting up the Base 3 that I have waited for 2 years now is very disappointing.

Do you have a CAB-1L or CAB-2 that you could use to program the ZW-L into the Base-3’s database, bypassing the CAB-3 app?

I am going from Cab1 to Cab3. My original TMCC system is the Base 1. Are you saying hook up the old base, give the ZW a new number then hook up the Base 3 after removing the Base 1 and manually enter the new number as an engine?

No. Hooking the old base won’t help because you would need to program the ZW-L to the BASE-3’s database, not the old BASE-1. It appears my suggestion won’t help your situation. Sorry.
