It is just pure and simple fun! You get your photo taken at different places where you have been. The more unusual the place is, the better. As long as it it is not hurting anyplace or anyone, it is fine to do. Just being a little silly with some of the kids in attendance at this fun LCCA charity event to benefit the Ronald McDonald house in Dallas TX.

Ho Ho Ho!!! And for those few of you who don't recognize it...it's sheer FUN pictured below, shared by both young and old Smile

Here is Julian taking a crack at planking! He is the young man that was one of the LCCA raffle winners at the event and I might add a potential apprentice to our Traingineers next year! Now that's Fun! Fun! Fun! Oh and you'll see pictured resting on top of Julian his raffle the BNSF Ice Cold Express Car - LCCA Limited Edition ...not that's COOL Smile

Roy is doing an incredible job here holding up Al - Crazy Fun I tell ya!

Here is the Google definition of planking.

"Planking" (or the "Lying Down Game") is an activity consisting of lying face down in an unusual or incongruous location. Both hands must touch the sides of the body and having a photograph of the participant taken and posted on the Internet is an integral part of the game.[1] Players compete to find the most unusual and original location in which to play.[1] The term planking refers to mimicking a wooden plank. Rigidity of the body must be maintained to constitute good planking.
Since early 2011, many participants in planking have photographed the activity on unusual locations such as atop poles, roofs and vehicles. Planking can include lying flat on a flat surface, or holding the body flat while it's supported in only some regions, with other parts of the body suspended.

Owled? What's that?

The Google definition is:

Owling (internet meme), the practice of crouching "like an owl" in unusual places.

I will have to owl at the next LCCA event, possibly with the Lionel layout.

I understand the Stanley photos everywhere a school kid gets those photos taken for a project. And I understand the "traveling boxcar" we have on the OGR Forum (by the way, where is it?). So I guess this is the latest similar idea. I too wonder how it is done. If it is photoshopped later, how do those at the event get to see and enjoy it?

I was planking on small table underneath my stomach in front of the fantastic Lionel layout designed and built by TW Design of Dallas TX. My upper torso and legs were hanging off the table, suspended in mid-air. These photos were photoshopped by a traingineer at TW Design. They just removed the small table from the photo. This is just another skill of the talented Traingineer  Trainworx family Smile

Hey its just like the FAX machine joke faxes...
It's just like the email joke messages...

Nothing new and only moderate fun for those outside of the actual event.

To check in somewhere..why not use foursquare.com...
No photo retouching necessary.

Both Reeves fellas did that in blue and red tights...many years apart.

Not a chance in being effective if you can't or don't know someone talented in Photoshop.
