I have a Rio Grand lionmaster challenger put would like to remove the Rio Grand decals & replace with union pacific decals.

1. How hard is this to remove and then replace new decals back on tender

2. Where can I find the decals to do this

3. Is there any one here on the forum that may be able to refer me to that does this

thank you Billy

I'd start by getting the decals first. Train shows or online auctions will probably be your best bet to find them. There are several of the guys that can recommend a source to get them on your locomotive. I'd tighten my belt and b prepared for a re-paint. Not cheap, but if it's what you want go for it.

Just checked my favorite auction site. There are 103 Union Pacific O Scale decal sets available. You're probably going to be in luck finding a set.

Billy, on this very page right now there is a thread all about custom made decals. Check it out. Commercially available 0 scale decals are rapidly becoming a thing of the past. As Gilly said, the best bet here is older out of production stock from a retailer, show or the Bay.

Also do a seach on removing lettering, and you will find some suggestions from those who have attempted this. There's always a risk factor of removing paint along with the lettering, but this has been discussed in previous threads.
