Fastrack Yard layout question

Is there a way to create a yard with 6-inch spacing using 072 or 060 Fastrack switches? If I connect the switches back to back on the straight section it looks like I will get 12 to 14 inch between tracks.

In the Track & Power catalog, Lionel has examples of both the O-60 & O-72 switches being used for cross overs with 6" spacing between tracks. They also show all the pieces needed to put them together. This might help with your yard tracks.
