I picked up a set of 600/2600 coaches to pull behind my 238E. Looks like all the track was piled in the box on top of the cars so the paint was really beat up. The body shells are good enough that I will leave them alone. Just going to replace the missing handles, coupler covers etc and polish them up. Krylon reds were not quite right and the finish too satiny. Rustolium Apple Red is almost perfect.

Steve, Thanks for the heads up on the paint.   I also see that you have a start on two sets, ie, the baggage is the 1940 late high coupler car where as the other two are the earlier 1938-39 cars.  They look just fine together, but if I know you from your posts, I am willing to bet you'll be looking for the rest of both sets.... And there is nothing wrong with that either!

I knew they were mismatched when I bought them, but they will look right with the 238E. Yeah, maybe someday I'll get them matched up, but I'm happy for now.
