What track system are you using?  Fastrack?  Do you have a minimum radius?

The one video on YouTube makes one believe that it is a separate table reached by a separate track from the main table.  This latter would be good for it would serve as a yard lead.

A better description/drawing of the space and its access would help.

Not a problem. Just need some info.

What track system?

Where will it be located in relation to the main? (access and exit)

Can you post a pic of the area or the layout track plan?

You have just enough space for a small to medium train without fouling the main.

here's an interesting read to help with some druthers you may be able to provide. Also attached an article by our moderator Rich.

This is my layout it is fast-track,the tracks are 10 in apart center to center. I would like to 45 deg them together if possible if not any suggestions would be appreciated. and the curve is o-36. Here is a diagram of what I made and can you take it and fix it for me I would appreciate that also. Thank you!!!

Here's an idea of what you can do in 15' by 3'.  I used O36 curves and switches.

One enters the yard from the lower left.  The top two sidings handle arrivals and departures.  The engine escapes via the crossover.  Each of these sidings can hold at least 10 regular length freight cars.

The three shorter sidings are for you locomotives and cabooses.

A wye from the mainline would be a good way to enter and exit the yard.

I would worry about being able to reach all parts of the layout.  If possible I would have an aisle between the yard and the main layout.

paul\matt,

here is my offering. I am still working on it's operation. It's seems that to get a switcher to move a completed train to the arrival\departure track to await an engine assignment, you have to briefly foul the main.

You can however, have fun working the yard. Due to the width limitation, I could not find a way to include a caboose siding and a run around.

Take a look and tell me if it's too complex or any comments that you have. It connects to the mainline with the yard table butted to the existing table on the 15' side.

Right-click on the file attached, select "save target as", save it somewhere that you find it on your computer, then double-click it to open in SCARM.

Edit: I added version 1, which incudes uncoupler tracks on the yard stubs. Placement is up to you.

Here is another option- a Pass Thru\Relay yard. This is mostly for staging a completed train for crew or engine transfer or storing for time limits. The 1 3/8" needed with the 072 wye at either end can be used for block power control when parking engines or lighted passenger trains. Not much yard lead for switching, cutting and making up trains.
