Are you running the tiu with track power wired through it, or are you using the auxiliary plug? If your using the aux, have you checked the power connection to the tiu? Your remote batteries could be low as well. Good luck,
Zach
I used to have DCS and a roster of RK locos, and I dumped it for postwar stuff because if problems like this. However, in my experience, some form of a reset (i.e., replacing the batteries, turning it on and off again, etc, etc) works 95% of the time.
Zach
Batteries are not the problem.
Which TIU channel were you using? If you were using any channel other than Fixed #1, you must also power the TIU via either Fixed #1 In or the TIU's Aux. Power port.
What I'm really trying to say is that MTH stuff is pretty robust and most of the time it's something simple like a loose connection or dirty track or low batteries, or something along those lines. It's just a matter of finding it and fixing it. It's just the other 5% of the time when you send vital equipment away to Mike Wolf's repair gremlins and they charge you for something simple that you overlooked. I think you'll be fine though If this doesn't work, then try and contact forum member Barry Broskowitz. He's a true expert on this subject and is very resourceful when it comes to DCS issues. I wish you luck in your O Gauge Journey! Cheers from the Frozen North!

Barry, if somehow the DCS signal got turned off, would the watchdog have been sent?
Mr. UP, if you power the TIU's internals through the AUX port, make sure the power supply hasn't gotten turned off. If not through the AUX port, power must be on thru Fixed 1. Look in lower right corner (near variable 1 input) inside TIU; is the LED lit?
No they shouldn't. ....
If you read the advice given again, you will see that the TIU only gets power to operate itself, one of two way. Power via Fixed 1, or use an aux power source on the aux Jack.
If you are using all TIU channels it is recommended to power the TIU via the Aux power jack. G
yes that is how i powered my
tiu and all the Channels i used a Z500 to power the Tiu through Aux power and 4 Z-1000's to power the channels
A wall wart with 12-18 volts, AC or DC, if you have one, would also do it. If no AIUs, ampacity of .75 amps would be adequate. If you have AIUs hiigher ampacity would be needed. To me, those bricks are overkill, but they are fine if you have no other use for them.
Robert,
if somehow the DCS signal got turned off, would the watchdog have been sent?
No, there would not be a watchdog sent.
BARRY, BARRY, BARRY YOU DID IT!!!!! I was indeed powering up the fixed power loop 2 without powering up fixed power loop one. I just powered up both and that did it
I'm glad that I could help.
No, there would not be a watchdog sent.
Didn't think so, but didn't want to say that would cause a startup.
