The sticker  is missing on a r2lc or r4lc how to tell the difference? How to determine what type of board it is. This is using a test jig with motor driver signal indicators, coupler indicators , front a rear light indicator and smoke.

Is a major difference the smoke. On the r4 board does the smoke output increase with engine movement. Is this a indicator it's a r4lc board?

I'm assuming the R4LC is a Legacy board, not the board that ERR supplies that is programmed with the TMCC C08 code, right?  The ERR supplied R4LC is a drop-in replacement for the standard R2LC-C08 board.

The Legacy board will not have smoke control on-board as the Legacy locomotives used the smoke voltage regulator.  When I put a Legacy board in my test rig, the smoke stays on all the time, it's not controlled by the smoke controls of the command remote.
