The engines on the layout not actively pulling consists get exercised to keep them smooth and throats clear, so to speak. today I ran VL Hudson 5344 light to exercise the engine. i was reminded what a superb operating model it is!  Whistle steam, swinging bell, great presence on the rails.  Very nice!!!

ALL the Lionel scale-size Hudsons (including the 773) are great models, but I especially like my VL Hudson with its extra features and superb Legacy Control system. The cab detailing, real coal pile, swinging bell, whistle steam, driver brake hangers, lighted classification lamps, and black handrails are all great additions to this 700E remake.

I just found a "BLACK" one in the BOX. It has never been run. AND it was in a Hobby Shop, on the shelf. Not only did I buy it, I got a "GOOD" price on it. I will treat it as an early Christmas Gift from my Wife!! LOL.  Up til now my favorite Engine was my Legacy Challenger. The HUDSON surpasses that. It Runs good, sounds good & has so many neat features.  Everyone I have demonstrated it to, there mouths drop open when they see the "Swinging Bell" and all the rest. GOOD JOB, Lionel!!!
