Darrel,

I was lucky to find a Weaver Magma GP38 at a recent TCA auction like yours.  Like you state, great drive, but light on weight.  This one still needs the handrails installed on the ends, but my experience is they are pretty fragile and this one living in the box for a while.  Hope the layout is coming along nicely for you!

@GG1 4877 Looks good Jonathan! Now for the real challenge, find the other 2! The #16 is the original powered unit, #17 was a dummy with sound which I powered with the kit from P&D Hobbies and installed a Tsunami 2 into, and #18 was just a lighted dummy which is in the middle of being powered with another kit from P&D.

Darrell,

The challenge is on!  I never realized that Weaver did three numbers.  I really am holding out for a Magma AZ RS3 or better yet a 2-6-0 Mogul or DRS 6-6-1500.  At least Weaver offered the RS3.  It's really a shame that a lot of the infrastructure in Superior got demolished.  I should have visited the property back in the 90's when it was still there.

@GG1 4877, You mean this one? This was my very first Weaver engine and it had a cracked drive tower, so it got a reduced gear train from P&D and it will absolutely crawl! It also has a Tsunami 2 installed. BTW, all mine are 3-rail engines, not sure how many 2 rail were made.

I also have all the Weaver GPD boxcars and all the Lionel  GPD ore cars, only took 4 years to find them all!
