All I'm trying to do is solder an antenna wire to the handrail antenna on this little #2908 Hudson. I've soldered for many years, and haven't has this much trouble. The wires (both of them) were soldered to the handrails when I unsoldered both of them to do some work, so I assumed they would both be resolderable. Well, I completed my work and want to solder both of them back. The first one was easy, the second handrail absolutely refuses to take even a hint of solder, and yes, it's one of the original handrails that had solder sticking to it. I've cleaned the connection with alcohol (about 10 different times), I added liquid flux every time I attempted another solder connection, I've tried to scratch the surface of the metal to expose fresh metal underneath, even sanded it down a bit with the Dremel, all to no avail. Is there a secret?

And BTW, I started with my Hako 926 pencil, and switched quickly to a 150 watt Weller gun - neither did the trick.
