Been there, done that. Nine o'clock made me a late arrival, but it was sparsely populated early on, so maybe l didn't miss much in first grabs. Picked up a Brooklin Model A COACH for $20. They are not conmon, although victoria and coupes are, and coaches go for $100+. Only found a black UTLX tankcar, in addition, but will have to three-rail it. No archbar trucks less than 2x value of car to be applied, and no homeless coal Vanderbilt tenders found.
Drove about 5 hrs each way on Sat. but was well worth it. Not a huge show, but had an excellent time. Bought an engine and matching caboose, plus made arrangements on a 2nd engine to be picked up at the Cleveland show in Nov. A big THANKS to Dan for putting this together.

Tell us more: What road names, who made 'em? Always interesting to hear what folks buy.
Someone said Bill Davis had 20 tables by himself. I've gone to meets where there wasn't much more than that!
I'm 10 hours one way or you might have seen me!

walked out with a lot of stuff landed a up 9000 at a great deal conversed with fellow members of o scale kings great show thankyou very much!!!!!!!!
Between being low on cash and prior commitments, we didnt make it this year. Gonna try to make the big show in Chicago next spring. I wanted to go as I want to replace a couple items I sold and regret doing now. Hope everybody had a great time! Mike
I'm a three rail and lobster coupler guy but my brother wanted to shop for building kits so we drove the 4 hours from St. Louis on Saturday. It was a nice show. I especially liked the Carey Williams' 1930's live steam (middle photo of his post). We picked up a few building kits and met some nice people. Well worth the trip.

Simon,
The engine I bought was a Sunset B&O T4a mountain and I-5D caboose, both NIB. I bought it from a place called Caboose Stop Hobbies from Cedar Rapids Iowa. The gentleman behind the table (I forget his name) had several tables and really good prices on most of his stuff. He had a nice Overland USRA 2-8-2 painted for a B&O Q3 that was calling out to me, but the T4a was just too good of a deal to pass up. He was busy as there always seemed to be 1 or 2 guys at his tables with their wallets out.
The engine I lined up for Cleveland was an unpainted C&LS RSD-12 and will wind up in NKP paint.
Yes, Bill Davis had a ton of stuff - I would say about 1/2 of the 1st pic from above were his tables. He was there in force and was wheelin' and dealin'. If I had not found the RSD-12, I think he would have sold me an MG Erie K5 that he had there. Also, Allegheny Scale Models and Jim Hackworth had some nice stuff and if you talked to any of them, they had access to much more.
I have to say, this show went like I have always heard they should: met and talked with alot of good guys, found some GREAT deals on stuff I have been wanting for years and enjoyed myself.
Troy,
Sounds like you did very well. I would have been happy with either of those Locos, as I too am a fan of Eastern roads. The Mikado and Mountain ate nice size engines and not quite the PITA to handle as some of the large articulated. I've heard of Caboose Stop, but never had occasion to deal with them.
One of these days I hope to get to Cleveland. I bought a nice NKP reefer from Sam Shumaker via mail a while back.
You can't go wrong with Car & Locomotive shop. Henry Bultmann installed his own coasting drives. A good guy gone way too soon!
Old A.C.G. had it right!
Take care,
Simon

The fellow behind the table for Caboose Stop Hobbies is Merlyn Lauber. Very nice gentleman from the midwest; owns a bricks and mortar hobby shop.
Great to hear everyone had a good time!
Mick Hinkle displayed his newly built Frank Ellison ....OB Long Box Co....from a Fred Dole kit.

Wasn't that Oblong Box kit offered at last York in dealer hall? I missed seeing it here. I forgot about it....
Dennis Brennan offers a modern kit of the OB Long box co......which is lovely ...this kit was photographically copied from the original Frank Ellison building ...so every hole and dent in the original is shown in the kit . This kit was offered by Fred Dole ...who own the original OB Long building .....now with me ... I do have more of Fred's kit's available .

Please find the Youtube link below if you are interested in getting a little show and tell on the Indy Midwest Show. I stitched together some photos and video clips, including a couple of vendor displays. Erik from Midwestern Model Works had some nice samples of his BETHGON High-Wall Gondola cars on display.
Along with having a good time and socializing with friends and meeting new modelers, I had a chance to work the O Scale Kings table and talk about the O Scale 2 Rail 2020 National in St. Louis. Looking for volunteers to help our Executive Committee to put on the meet as well as talking to many of the vendors and dealers about their needs and requirements to join us in July of next year.
Enjoy the video!
