OK, here's the story. I have a K-Line A5 Switcher with TMCC that worked fine in both conventional and Command mode. I attempted adding the ERR Cruise Commander M module with partial success. By "partial", I mean the cruise worked while in forward, but the engine would no longer run in reverse. I returned the board to ERR and they confirmed the board was defective and they sent me a new board. I installed the original K-line motor driver board and discovered the A5 would no longer run in command mode. It was suggested that the R2LC board had gone bad. I purchased a new R2LC-08 board thinking this would cure all my problems. I installed the new R2LC board and discovered the engine will not run in conventional or command mode. I reinstalled the original R2LC board and the engine runs in conventional mode but not command mode. I have not attempted the cruise commander reinstall until I get things working again. Does anyone have a suggestion or fix? Thanks.

So sorting this out, bad CCM board, but in the process, youdid something to kill command. And a new (mystery as to why) R2LC did not fix.
I would say that the problem is not the R2LC board but something else that is preventing the command from working.
At least pursue that first. Regarding the antenna, there is enough antenna on the R2LC board to receive command with the boiler off.
I'm with Chuck, something has gone amiss.
I'd see if you can test the R2LC in another locomotive and see if it's good or bad.
I have run into K-Line engines that have some blown traces on the mother boards. Old age is causing this. Check continuity from your run/program switch to pin 22 on the R2LC. When you go to program the engine, do you get the whistle when you press set? Like John stated, something else is going on. Many times guys look for the board or component issue and it is usually something else. Get your engine running right before you go to the CCM board.
I would make sure all the connector are fully seated and that no wire connectors pushed out of the header, especially from Mother board to Motor Driver (4 pin PWM); or broken wire on the switch.
I would then do a reset of the R2LC with the code from the manual. Might be 4. G
SHE'S FIXED!!!
Thanks for everyone's help and suggestions. All wiring checked out OK. Part of my problem was self inflicted. I recently added the new Legacy Powermaster to the command system and I was forgetting to "engage" the powermaster before selecting the engine. Me and electronics do not get along. When I got that figured out, I reinstalled the new R2LC. I then did a reset of the R2LC using Code 4. She started right up and runs great. I'm not sure if I will attempt another install of the ERR Cruise Commander or have it installed professionally. Thanks again everyone!!!
Be more than happy to install for you if you do not want to do it. E-mail in profile. G
The first one is the hardest, you would probably find future installations considerably easier.
