  1. I just did a search on here for “K-Line” and pretty much got zip, save a couple of members who use k-line in their user names. I then searched without the hyphen and found all kinds of threads. Why does everyone spell K-Line as Kline? Or is the web site stripping out all hyphens?
  2. Where is the best place to find service documentation for K-Line stuff? In my case, an FM Trainmaster?
  3. Where is the best place to buy parts?
  4. Anyone laughing up their sleeve at my questions? Yeah, I know NOTHING about K-Line other than they appear to be linked to Lionel at one point.

Their scale Hudson that was introduced at around $500 and available with or without TMCC was a tremendous bargain that shook the scale crowd who was used to paying in excess of $1000 for a scale steamer at the time. It is still a fine model by today's standards with arguably the best detail yet.

#2 Good luck on this one. I don’t think any service documentation exists.

The forum search has some quirks.  The simple search will not handle hyphens, but you can search for K Line and it will pick up K-Line.

In the Advanced search you can enter K-Line in the exact phrase match field, and it works.

I'm not sure where you can locate service documents, but if you need the Trainmaster owners manual, you may try putting that request in your thread title.  Likely someone will have it and can scan it for you.

I have the  Hudson and Mikado with TMCC.  Both are very well detailed and are good runners (less cruise control).  They have the best "puffer" smoke units I have come across  (both are slated for cruise upgrade and fan driven smoke).    I missed out on the Boston & Albany 4-6-6 tank engine.

It is a shame that K-Line was unable to maintain independence & succeed.  The made beautiful stuff at lower pricing than the competition.

I believe Lionel's current light Mikado is the K-Line tooling.
