Soon I will be doing some upgrades(diode,ckt breaker,rollers, cord,etc) on a KW transformer I recently purchased.
The one issue I have not figured out is how to deal with the rust between the base plate and chassis holding the coil
and all the other parts. Must have been in a damp area for a time.
I believe there are 4 spot welds holding the two plates together. If there are any preferred/typical methods to remove the
rust and repaint I'd be interested in hearing them. I have considered drilling out the spot welds, dealing with rust removal,
painting and then using machine screws with nylon-lock nuts. It is too tight a gap to do much else with what I know so far.
