So this engine has always run good until I installed some switches and no a problem has been exposed it wont cross them it looses power. Upon inspection with my meter I discover the rear drive wheels are not Grounded to the Green middle wire on the motor like the front wheels are. I suspect that's the problem. Where do look to uncover a damaged wire or bracket? Start by taking the truck apart? Also (separate issue)  the front roller has always sparked a lot I mean excessive. but it spins freely and shows no signs of wearing uneven. What can be done with it? TMCC model train with Magnatraction and pullmor motor 1997 model I believe. thanks Jeff

Remove the body shell. You will see wires coming from the rollers (the "hot") and typically some other wires that are screwed to the truck frames - the ground. See it all these are there/tight/not broken. Y'know - basic   housekeeping. Eyeball everything. Trace the wires. Note if said wires are snugly attached to the board(s).

The sparking can be caused by a loose-ish wire. Also, clean the rollers (mineral spirits; electronics cleaner from Radio Shack, etc) - the roller axle hole can get dirty.

Get to know the loco inside as well as outside.
