I primarily use o gauge tubular track on my layout but over the years I have accumulated some 036 fast track.  My plan was to run a subway line on my layout using one reversing loop.  After some reading and before I order a manual fast track switch (6-12018), i am still confused as to the non-derailing feature with this switch.  Am I incorrect in assuming that this switch will reliably switch on its own to avoid derailment as it enters and exits this reverse loop?   Where this switch will be located on my layout a remote switch would not be necessary and I would like to avoid the expense of purchasing a remote fast track switch.  Thanks in advance for any insight a forum member can provide.

Pete
